Ms Lynne Watson

Chair of Governors / Co-opted Governor

My son attended Bridge Farm from 2012 and I was originally involved in the PTA and then became a parent governor in 2015. My son has now left the school and I have recently been elected as the Chair of Governors.

I work for the NHS in healthcare science and this alongside working with the team at Bridge Farm has shown me what a valuable contribution volunteers can make. I am passionate about improving educational opportunities and outcomes for all children, through a wide range of learning experiences, which will sustain a lifelong love of learning.

Mr Robert Farley

Vice Chair / Co-opted Governor

I am an experienced Chair of Governors, who is now supporting the school as Vice Chair. My first year service as Chair of Governors at Bridge Farm Primary was over 20 years ago.

I have represented governors on the local authority governor appointments panel and sat on other schools pupil exclusions panels as an independent governor.

At Bridge Farm Primary, I have seen the school evolve into a successful educational establishment, from the amalgamation of the infant and junior schools to the expansion to 3 forms of entry.

Miss Rachel Drew

Staff Governor

I have taught at Bridge Farm since 2014 in Reception and Key Stage 1. I am the co curriculum leader for English.

Mrs Karen Davey

Co-opted Governor

I have worked at a local secondary school for the last 6 years in the finance team. Prior to this, my career of over 17 years was in financial banking where my roles varied throughout the South West including management, sales, training & recruitment. This provided me with the skills needed to support Bridge Farm as an effective Governor, on the Finance Committee.

With children being at the centre of all I do as a governor, my dedication and commitment means that your children are 'Living and Learning' at Bridge Farm Primary School.

I have a child currently at the school and have a long established relationship with Bridge Farm Primary.

Alongside the role of school governor, I play an active role in the PTA as Vice Chair. I also support Children's Hospice Southwest charity in various ways and events throughout the year. I am an active member of our local community, particularly in promoting the reduction of waste and plastic working alongside Bristol City Council.

Mrs Kate Dawe

Co-Opted Governor

I have two children at Bridge Farm Primary School.

Professionally I am a chartered certified accountant and also a chartered tax adviser. I have worked in finance, specifically tax, for over 20 years both in practice and industry. I currently work full time as a Tax Manager for a Bristol based company.

In addition to my role as co-opted governor, I am also a committee member of Bridge Farm Primary School PTA which is a registered charity. I have been in the role of Treasurer since 2017.

Ms Faye Dicker

Parent Governor

I grew up in Whitchurch and attended Bridge Farm Primary School, both my children now attend the school – which has grown a lot since my day.

I’m a broadcaster by trade and have spent years presenting on BBC Radio Bristol and commercial radio stations. I now work as a voiceover artist from my home studio and run a small business, Freelance Mum. Years working in busy newsrooms means I’m instinctively questioning in nature.

I’m passionate about the local community and formed the South Bristol Wrong Road group, I’ve campaigned tirelessly to protect the local greenbelt and believe every child has the right to clean air.

Previously I’ve volunteered to listen to the children read at school, as well as being member of the PTA. I’m keen to support the school and it’s community, as we emerge post pandemic.

Miss Kirsty Hunt

Parent Governor

I live within the local community and my son attends Bridge Farm School.

As parent governor, I am committed to supporting the school’s vision and values, and want to ensure that the children are ‘living and learning’ together.

I am an experienced employment lawyer who now works as a specialist HR Consultant. By sharing my knowledge and experience, I hope to make a valued contribution to the school’s strategic development, and help support continued improvement so that the children receive the best education possible.

Mr Matthew Stannard

Associate Governor / Deputy Headteacher

I have been the Deputy Headteacher at the school since 2008. I am a Specialist Leader of Education with the Bristol Primary Teaching School Alliance.

Mr Nick Frost
