We have been loving our Eco Superhero topic!
In science we have been learning about plants and we loved our experiment that investigated seed dispersal!
We also made our own board games in maths and then played them! We had to show lots of collaboration and this was lots of fun.
On the last day of term we had a whole school picnic on the field to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee!
We have loved carrying on with our History based topic!
In maths we have been learning all about capacity! We enjoyed using non-standardised units and standardised units to measure capacity. We got a bit wet!
We also have a great time celebrating World Book Day! Everyone had a lot of fun dressing up as a character from a book and we even had a zoom with an author!
We have been loving our topic about The Tudors!
In Art, we have been creating Tudor portraits.
In English we have been learning Hampton Court.
In History we designed a new wife for Henry VIII! This was super fun!
In Art we have also been designing a repeating wallpaper to be used as a Tudor wallpaper!
We have been continuing our topic about India.
In RE, made paper lanterns for Diwali, and thought about things that make us feel ‘full of light’. We added these to the flames.
In science we have been learning about habitats and micro habitats and had fun hunting for these around the school.
In Maths, we have started multiplication. We have been working on equal groups and repeated addition so far.
In Computing, we have been learning about programming using the EARL robot.
We have really been enjoying our science lessons in year 2 so far!
In Science, we have been learning about different materials and their properties. We looked at how fabrics are traditionally dyed in India, and we conducted an experiment using different types of natural dyes, such as pomegranates and turmeric. We also investigated the different properties of materials and discussed their suitability for different purposes.
